Perforated steel plates
The Dorset Green Machines dryer is a modular biomass drying system available in 2-meter and 3-meter wide variants to accommodate higher volumes. This plate dryer consists of drying layers with steel perforated trays that run on a chain system. These steel perforated plates, which are galvanized and coated to protect against aggressive substances, ensure durability and optimal airflow. The design allows the plates to flip at the rear, causing the product to move over the return layer, effectively creating two drying layers per level.
Energy-efficient drying
The steel drying plates can handle large layer thicknesses, up to 15-18 centimeters, and their perforation ensures low air resistance, resulting in lower power consumption. Warm air is ventilated through the drying layers, enhancing the drying process and contributing to energy efficiency. The dryer is designed to operate with residual heat and can even dry at low temperatures. The drying plates are maintenance-free, and the floor of the dryer is equipped with an automatic cleaning system, reducing maintenance requirements.
Modular design for flexibility
A swing system is used to evenly distribute the material onto the drying plates, ensuring uniform drying. The system can be stacked vertically from a single to a double or triple-level system. The system features a design where the drying plates tip over at the end of the dryer, dropping the material onto the return layer. With two drying layers per level, the system offers options of 2, 4, or 6 drying layers. The length of the system is modular, ranging from 6 meters to 45 meters between the front and back of the dryer, making it highly flexible and easy to implement in demanding markets.
Continuous operation and low maintenance
The dryer operates 24/7 in an unmanned operation and is designed for low maintenance costs. Depending on the situation, the dryer can be integrated into a total solution with storage and transport materials, airflow, heat supply, and supplemented with air scrubbers or pelletizing solutions. This makes the dryer suitable for drying various materials, including poultry manure, digestate, sludge, wood chips, and other biomass. The dryer is an ideal drying tunnel solution for various applications, ensuring efficient and reliable drying performance.
